We offer a simple yet comfortable off-grid space surrounded by nature. The ideal place to break free from the daily grind and retreat for renewal.

When you arrive at The Close, you will immediately notice there are no power lines anywhere near the property. Each facility operates on a gas or propane generator, used only when it is difficult to see inside (so power usage is limited). We also truck in our own water, which we store in cisterns. Gravity then delivers the water to your respective accommodation.

Yes. While we are off-grid without traditional power sources, we do have refrigeration, ovens/stoves, and hot water heaters (all the time, not just when generators are in use). Our facilities are clean, well-furnished, and equipped with high-end finishes.

While we are not a wedding venue, we do allow previous retreatants, who are familiar with and appreciate The Close for what it is, to celebrate their special day here at The Close.

Yes. The Caretakers reside on the property and monitor Close Road and the gate to ensure only those expected are on the property.

No. The property has critters, poison ivy, bears, bobcats, cliffs, and bodies of water. Please be mindful of your surroundings in certain seasons to stay safe around nature’s wonders.
