The Chapel of the Broken Vessel sits prominently nearby on the hilltop with a panoramic view of the gorge, distant hills, cabins, lodges, and the lake located in the center of the property.  The chapel is a wood and glass structure which allows light throughout.  Seating will accommodate approximately 30 people.  The east glassed end of the chapel opens to view the Rockcastle River Gorge and the Cane Creek valley and a formal Carol Barr Memorial Garden.  Retreatants can sit in study and contemplation among the beautiful Autumn colors and the muffled roar of the Rockcastle Narrows rapids.

 

You will need to bring: Personal Items (Décor for weddings)

Cost: $1000 per Event + Applicable Tax

While our primary focus is providing transformative retreat experiences, we are pleased to offer past retreat guests the opportunity to celebrate their special day in our serene natural setting.

Wedding Booking Guidelines

We welcome intimate wedding celebrations for those who have previously stayed with us and wish to return for their milestone moment. Our venue provides a peaceful, authentic backdrop for couples seeking a meaningful and unplugged celebration.

Requirements for Wedding Bookings:

  • Exclusive Use Required – All facilities must be booked for the entirety of your wedding celebration to ensure privacy and a seamless experience for you and your guests

  • Advance Booking – Wedding reservations must be made at least 6 months in advance, subject to availability

  • Past Retreatant Status – Wedding bookings are available exclusively to individuals who have previously booked a retreat at The Close.

Important Considerations:

Please note that we are not a dedicated wedding venue. Our off-grid facilities operate with limited power and water resources, and we maintain our smoke-free and pet-free policies for all events. These unique characteristics create an intimate, nature-focused atmosphere that many couples find perfect for a truly meaningful celebration.
